Lambs weaned and ewes off paddocks in drought confinement lots . 350 per pen takes 3mins to feed them all with grain plus a straw bale every 4 days or so 1kg barley every seccond day ! Much easier than chasing them over the farm to feed not to mention the benefit to groundcover

FYI Containment feeding or Drought lots are essential and have been around for ten years at least. Hungry stock will burn more energy walking looking for feed that’s not in the paddock they’re roaming rather than eat, sleep, drink in a shady pen. Less dust too. @AlexanderIngold

Hopefully we can get these back to work today...50mm gave us a rest/maintenance break and will get the boom wheels turning too chasing the headers, canola has reshot already.

Cutting canola. Nice going, contract Windrowing job for a neighbor. Not ours but we did sow this paddock for him on the 10th April. Amazing what can be done despite the season. #winning

East West seeding. πŸ‘Ž Stubble shading had a significant impact on the canola plants growing on the southern side of the old wheat stubble rows. Failed crop in many ways. East West seeding suppresses weed seed set, it clearly suppresses crop yield too. @KedarJoel @grassrootsag
