Some may have had a lock on being in the money after the Final Four if they used the Kenpomv model. That is the case for the Bloomberg Brackets for a Cause pool bloomberg.com/graphics/2025-…. Many of the "titans from business and finance" are not good at bracket strategy.

My Kenpom model was even better than Kenpomv this year. Note that the probabilities are a little different from KenPom's, see his here: kenpom.substack.com/p/2025-n…

The probabilities are different just because I don't know his exact formula for calculating them.

It was a good year for a contrarian champ. I hope you did not assume Duke was a contrarian pick since they were not in the upper left corner of the bracket. The Yahoo pool champ pick distribution and the Vegas champ odds are two ways to find the most popular team.

The Poologic Calculator is doing well in standard scoring pools this year. Perfect on the Elite Eight and Final Four.

The first data load will probably not be until Monday this year. My source for quickly loading the bracket is no longer available, so it will take longer to get the data loaded.

I think mRchmadness is the only free app that includes an opponent model: saberpowers.shinyapps.io/mRc… It's one of the tools that I recommended in my book. It was out of service for a few years but now it is back.

Better late than never, mRchmadness (w/ @elishayer) is up for 2024! We're NOT in the business of predicting outcomes. But if you have those predictions from another source, our tool maximizes your chances of winning your pool (using pick data from ESPN). saberpowers.shinyapps.io/mRc…

Note that the calculators and data tables now include timestamps to help you ensure that you don't use stale data due to browser caching. Also, I have beefed up my caching avoidance mechanisms.

The NCAA does not properly time the 10-second backcourt violation in many venues. It is a defacto 9-second violation due to a type of off-by-one error. The shot clock displays are no standardized. epicurusgarden.blogspot.com/…

I could be that the officials get it right anyway, by ignoring the rules and rulings. They may use the game clock or some other timer to get it right.
