Some interesting points about the interviewer's identity in oral history! If you were in this last session, find the chat for Nemo's contact if you have any questions for them!
Replying to @YasminRAkhter
@YasminRAkhter speaking now on Her research into M N Roy’s Memoirs

Amazing insight into the complex network of feelings from freedom, belonging and limitation for exiles
Yasmin discusses spatial imaginaries to further her insight into Roy’s work
Making use of the fascinating genre of memoir to discuss the Indian Exile perspective
Now Susanne Lansman, who will be talking about Charles Simic's poems!

She's using a psychoanalytic lens to understand the voice of trauma, which is super interesting!
1
Fielding questions now about this: more pointedly, she's using it to understand the connection between the READER (hey, that's us!) and the speaker..
Starting off the afternoon session with a talk by Amber Onver on gatekeeping in trans healthcare!
1
In describing the workings of the gender clinic, she's comparing it to "a very invasive oracle" (apologies if we're miswriting that great analogy!) and framing this as a gateway/portal to one's gender that can be stalled by these arbitrary and punitive practices.

Thanks for sharing your research, Amber!
One more session to go at 4 pm!
Now we're engrossed in the workshop - more updates on it later, but so far it's great, so join if you can!
Almost time for the next session: Ways of Working Workshop. First, a recap of the staff roundtable and what we learned!

@rach_scottie spoke about transnational connections in/across the early modern Iberian world, concluding with the idea of the Iberian peninsula as a portal between 'East' and 'West' that perhaps complicates that binary!
