As of April 14th, 2020, the City Council has approved a "motion to suspend off-leash and voice control city code provisions for dogs between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m" to maintain safe social distancing during the COVID-19 Stay at Home Order. #PortlandME @CityPortland

The City of Portland does not recommend using playgrounds at this time due to the fact that they are not manually or chemically sterilized. Thank you for your cooperation! Parks and trails remain open for use with proper social distancing. #PortlandME

Today, @MEPublicHealth and I announced Maine's first presumptive positive case of the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Maine. We have been preparing for this since the end of last year. Now Maine has an opportunity to delay an outbreak and to minimize our exposure. (1/4)

200 years ago today - on July 26, 1819 - Maine residents voted to separate from Massachusetts.
Turnout was low (most people couldn't vote) but 71% wanted independence.
