I think we conflate “how hard it was to find the steps” with “how hard it is to actually do them” So we go “no fuckin way…something that good can’t be that easy” and the inventor is like “…ya, 8 years of tinkering wasn’t easy”

I also realize this hinders ourselves (when something feels easy “so it must not be worth much,” forgetting our love meant years of twiddling and getting orders of magnitude better than anyone who doesn’t twiddle, which is almost everyone), blah blah, “higher edu ≠ the only edu”

And others when they think “oh they never had training / this looks easy / only took 2 seconds, must not be very good” So I guess watching a professional artist make somethin in a minute and thinking it’s easy is the equivalent of watching an Olympian and goin “I could do that”
