Fredericksburg Main Street Hits Forty Million Milestone
Fredericksburg Main Street received a Virginia Main Street Milestone Award on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, for attracting more than $40 million in private investment to the historic downtown since the program began in 2013.
The recognition highlights measurable success in building improvements, volunteer engagement and private investment. City officials, business owners and community leaders gathered to celebrate the milestone, which reflects confidence in downtown revitalization through historic preservation and economic growth.
Speakers included Mayor Carrie Devine, Virginia Secretary of Commerce and Trade Carrie Chenery, Fredericksburg Main Street Executive Director Chris Allen and Assistant Director Kristen Reed. The event underscored partnerships among business owners, property owners, volunteers and city leaders.
This achievement strengthens the local economy, supports small businesses and preserves Fredericksburg’s historic character as a vibrant destination.
