Holy crap the foraging is good this year. Got enough chokecherries for a whole batch of jelly from one bush in my neighbor’s driveway. Tons of sumac berries and big rose hips too. And check out these wild peaches in Belleview Park! Delicious!

Boy howdy I sure keep coming across more places that seem to be blatantly violating HB21-1048, Colorado's "Retail Business Must Accept Cash" law

The dawn of Septober in Colorado puts me in desperate need of a prairie road trip. I wanna eat biscuits and gravy from a gas station. I wanna stay in a motel that still advertises color TV. I wanna visit a museum with a room full of old sewing machines. It is time

The view from the tower at Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum, in the heart of the former Lowry Air Force Base. I remember when it was all old runways out here.

Yep. Worth remembering that Levittown houses -- the archetypal postwar white picket fence family homes in the suburbs affordable on a modest income -- were 750 square feet.

Me, hanging out with elderly relatives: So, how're you doing these da- Cable news at full volume: They're coming for you. They're all around you. They're trying to kill you. They can't be stopped. Hear that? They're almost here. Elderly relative, staring at the screen: hwuuuuuh
I shared a hotel room this week with a 77-year-old family member, which meant that I was exposed to wall-to-wall cable news--and America, we are not okay

Y'know what still makes this site tolerable? Blocking people! I've gone absolutely nuts blocking people since King Dingleberry started breaking everything here. It's great! It's also how I keep Facebook tolerable! Anyone who annoys me in the slightest, you're blocked! Easy!

Facebook memories: Hey look! Here's some painfully cringey stuff you said ten years ago! Me: Ok FB: Seven years ago you were on a trip with your friend who got murdered! Me: ok stop FB: Five years ago your grandma told you she loved you! She's dead too now! Me: ENOUGH

You ever do that daydream where you wake up and there's $100 million in your bank account, so you quit your job, pay off the mortgages, credit cards and student loans of everyone you know, buy yourself your dream house, then travel everywhere you've ever wanted to go? Just me?

Hi yes I will take one kitted-out 4Runner, one mint-condition 1959 Chrysler Imperial convertible, a historic farmhouse with a big porch in the foothills northwest of Fort Collins, and I will now be departing for a lengthy canoe expedition of the Boundary Waters, thank you
