I'm really not enjoying the way people are talking about disabled children and I'm going to remind you that your perfectly healthy kid could become disabled at any moment, literally overnight, and no amount of NIPTs or screenings could've predicted it, and then what will you do?

Every single child with Down syndrome is a gift from God, who deserves life. These children have just as much value, and deserve life just as much as a child without DS. Down syndrome children aren’t a curse to parents. Pass it on.

People want lives free of suffering, but they don't realize how suffering and love are entwined. They want "perfect" families––and assume they know what perfect looks like. They shy away from the unexpected, the startling. I don't think that is very wise at all.

When I was 13, we drove from Milwaukee to Wyoming for a family reunion. I told my parents that when I grew up, I was going to move to Wyoming and marry a cowboy. ✅ married almost 22 years and five kids… I think it was the right decision. #mycowboy #wyoming #bebrave

My kid spend 3 plus hours driving one way to a game 50% of the time…and have at least 2 games a season 6 hours away.
Meanwhile, high school kids in Wyoming go 300-500 miles each way REGULARLY on a bus and get home after midnight.

Yup, I'm seeing a lot of this too. Don't fall for the psy-op! You'll find no more avowed conservative conservationist - even public lands defender - than me. Yet, I'm not against economic progress. Data centers can be sustainably built. You don't have to choose between either.
Foreign bot farms are flooding social media with AI-generated images of the American wilderness and the caption: "It's not worth losing this for a data center." Slop is not your friend. Don't fall for it.

To start, let's understand what a data center is. @AndyMasley explains it great "All these tiny hyper-optimized computers in a single central location, serving hundreds of thousands of people at once, is what a data center is." open.substack.com/pub/andyma…

This woman just made ultramarathon history in 56-hour, 250-mile run in Arizona. Rachel Entrekin won the Cocodona 250 outright in a 56-hour, 250 mile effort, beating the entire men’s field, setting a new course record, and marking a landmark moment in ultrarunning history.

Meat doesn't come from grocery stores; it comes from poultry and livestock raised by farmers. Electricity doesn't come from thin air; it's derived from coal, gas, and nuclear. Your ability to stream movies, browse the Internet, and post on social media doesn't happen magically; it's because of cloud computing and interactions with data centers. There is a reasonable way to approach data centers. Wholly opposing them is NOT the way to go.

Data centers aren’t simply for AI. Every text, email, movie streamed, and social media post is you - the individual - interacting with data centers. Our digital interactions have to be stored somewhere. They’re housed in data centers, AI-powered or not. Unless you become a Luddite and rid of all tech from your life, you are dependent on data centers…
