My thoughts on #Ustaad: This movie has an interesting premise. It’s a love story between a boy and his bike. You get the vibes of Gautham Menon directed films in this movie. Sri Simha has done an excellent job (especially towards the latter part of the film). Music is pretty good. You empathise with all the characters. However, the pacing and emotional depth is uneven in the film. Also liked characterisation and performance of Ravindra Vijay (drunkard bike mechanic). Kavya Kalyanram is a good actress. It’s a kind of film where it works in parts (especially towards climax) but falls short as a whole film. #Ustaad is an honest attempt with sincere writing! PS: This film didn’t get a fair chance because it was released in the weekend where there are two Telugu biggies and two Hindi biggies. For USA too, the release didn’t provide distributors enough time.
