Had a productive round of meetings and interactions at the G7 Summit in Evian. I had the opportunity to put forward India’s views and efforts on key areas of governance and policy-making. Also had the opportunity to put forward the need to work closely with the Global South as far as global prosperity is concerned. Now, will go to Paris for the final leg of my France visit. The programmes in Paris include an address at VivaTech 2026 and interacting with the Indian diaspora at a community programme. @G7

J’ai eu l’occasion de présenter les positions et les efforts de l’Inde sur des domaines clés de la gouvernance et de l’élaboration des politiques. J’ai également eu l’occasion de souligner la nécessité de travailler étroitement avec le Sud global en ce qui concerne la prospérité mondiale. Je me rends maintenant à Paris pour la dernière étape de ma visite en France. Today, many societies are becoming ageing societies while India and other countries of the Global South have abundance of young talent, entrepreneurship and skills. To harness this natural complementarity, called for the creation a Global Skills Partnership, where we can work together on skill mapping and promoting trusted skilled mobility.

The disruptions in fuel, fertiliser and food supply chains caused by the crisis in West Asia will continue to impact the Global South for a considerable period. If we genuinely seek to strengthen international solidarity, the most vulnerable countries should not be left to bear the burden of these crises alone. Our international financial institutions should develop support mechanisms that help developing countries absorb these shocks and maintain their economic resilience.

India’s experience demonstrates that shared development can help transform aspiration into reality. India’s growth story is one of inclusion, scale and democratic empowerment. It is inspired by ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’ (Together with all, Development for all, Trust of all, Efforts by all). And, it has been reflected on countless occasions such as India’s G20 Presidency, the launch of India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) and more.

At the G7 Summit in Evian, addressed the Outreach Session on ‘Reviving a Balanced, Shared and Sustainable Economic Growth for All.’ It is good that the French G7 Presidency has given importance to this topic. The reality today is- when it comes to growth, the question should not be about GDP or trade numbers. The real question is - Growth for whom, with whom and in what direction? @G7

Highlighted India’s efforts in Africa, including the focus on training, capacity building, water resources, agriculture and energy. These are strengthening the capacities of African nations and helping them provide solutions to pressing global challenges.

Mutual trust is the most important strategic asset today. But, sadly, today, the world does not suffer from a shortage of resources…it suffers from a shortage of trust. And the future of our partnerships depends on re-building this trust.

Emphasised that the Global South has immense expectations from the world. More than support, it seeks partnership. We must move beyond the donor-recipient mindset and work as equal partners! We must walk together and not merely alongside one another. Partnerships must be linked to dignity, not dependency.

India believes that the true test of partnership is not what we build for others, but what we enable others to build for themselves. Our development partnerships reflect the same spirit. Our efforts have focused on capacity building and skill development in partner countries.

We, in India, view the world as one family. Our experience shows that development is most effective when it is connected to the aspirations of people. This principle also forms the basis of our international partnerships like the International Solar Alliance, Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, Global Biofuels Alliance, Mission LiFE, and ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (A tree for mother).

Shared my thoughts at the Outreach Session on ‘Forging New Partnerships and Rebuilding International Solidarity’ at the G7 Summit in Evian. In a world that is getting more interconnected and interdependent than ever before, this subject becomes all the more vital. But, partnerships can succeed only when they are founded on trust. @G7
