Turns out taxpayers are expected to cover about $300 million of the $600 million price tag.

Het gaat niet goed met de benzinevoorraad in Rusland. Zie hier het overzicht van wat er gisteren is gebeurd:
- Gisteravond heeft Oekraïne opnieuw bruggen vernield die Oekraïne verbinden met de Krim, maar ook de brug tussen Mariupol & Rostov on Don werd vernietigd door 4 FP2 drones. (foto 1)
- Daarnaast heeft Oekraïne gister 417 vrachtwagens vernietigd.
- Russische soldaten aan het front zijn nu genoodzaakt om generatoren te gebruiken om hun spullen te voorzien van elektriciteit.
- Geparkeerde auto's worden beroofd van benzine door andere Russen.
- In Donetsk rijden bijna geen taxi's meer vanwege het brandstoftekort.
- Er zijn inmiddels 21 regio's in Rusland die een tekort aan brandstof hebben. Inclusief de Moskou & Sint Petersburg regio's. (foto 2)
- Bovenop de 21 regio's die een tekort hebben, zijn er nog 12 andere regio's die limieten hebben gesteld aan het aantal liters brandstof dat je kan tanken.
- Voor Moskou & Sint Petersbrug geldt inmiddels een limiet van 20 liter per auto per tankbeurt aan de pomp. De rijen duren uren.
- Een aantal tankstations op de snelweg tussen Moskou & Sint Petersburg (de belangrijkste snelweg van Rusland) zijn gesloten. Tankstations die nog wel open zijn hebben rijen van kilometers.
- Vanwege de brandstoftekorten heeft Rusland de regels voor de kwaliteit van de benzine versoepelt. Rusland staat nu 15x de toegestane hoeveelheid zwavel toe.
- Oekraïne heeft de olieopslag in Krasnodar geraakt afgelopen nacht.
- Oekraïne heeft in Moskou, op 15 kilometer van het Rode Plein, de grootste olieraffinaderij van de Moskou regio aangevallen. (foto 3)
- Een Russische TU-22 bommenwerper is uit de lucht gevallen. (foto 4)
- De Sint Petersburg Naval Day Parade is voor het tweede jaar op rij gecanceld.

Belgrade’s "Back Door" is open and Moscow is walking right in.
While the rest of the continent tries to hold the line against putin’s regime, Serbia is busy handing out passports to Russians.
A chilling investigation from Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) published this June has pulled the curtain back on the operation: in just the first five months of 2026, Russians received "national interest" citizenship at a rate four times higher than every other foreign nationality combined.
It is a deliberate, dangerous loophole. We aren’t talking about everyday citizens looking for a fresh start.
RFE/RL identified recipients linked to sanctioned oligarchs and the Kremlin’s inner circle, people who should be persona non grata.
Thanks to Serbia’s visa-free access to the Schengen Area, these individuals, people who are effectively blacklisted by the democratic world, now have a golden ticket into the heart of Europe.
Belgrade wants the perks of being an EU candidate, but it refuses to play by the rules. You can't claim to be on a "European path" while acting as a revolving door for the Kremlin’s interests.
The EU has been patient, but this "dual-track" strategy is dead. If Serbia wants to sit at the European table, it needs to stop opening the back door for Moscow.
Europe needs to stop being naive. Scrutiny isn't just an option anymore. It is a necessity.
How long is Europe going to let a candidate member undermine Europe’s collective security before they actually hold them accountable?

More and more poll evidence is showing that voters are well ahead of politicians when it comes to defence and security. Government politicians are far too afraid of those who want to leave Ireland and Europe defenceless. Leadership needed, not followership of the cranks and conspiracy theorists.

Processing 12.8 million tonnes per year (245,000–250,000 barrels per day), this refinery supplies roughly 35–40% of the fuel consumed in Moscow and the surrounding region.
