Strong laws exist on paper, but trust is built (or broken) through actual governance, timely breach reporting, and genuine privacy by design. As a cybersecurity expert, I’ve seen this pattern before. Employee sabotage is real.
It becomes a risk when employees:
✔️Knows your business assets
✔️Has deep access to critical systems
✔️Is disgruntled
When employees suspect they will be laid off without just cause or if employees retain access after job loss. That’s an insider threat.
✔️Terminate access fast when employment ends.
✔️Disable accounts immediately.
Prevention matters too:
✔️Keep communication open
✔️Pay and recognize employees fairly
✔️Audit aggressively
✔️Monitor for abnormal activity
Security isn’t just tech. It’s people.
