ALT December 23, 2024 Today before midnight I need to pay our phone/internet bill, or face disconnection. Our landlady will probably allow me to use the wifi from her restuarant next door, but I won't have phone service, at all, while only having access to the internet for a limited amount of time per day, especially the weekends. Tomorrow, our electricity bill is due, for which I have nothing. The fact that I completed a job recently does not help at all because my payment is currently on hold while I go through the process of re-verifying my ID with the company, which requires replacing my expired State ID.

ALT To do that, I first must have my birth certificate sent from my place of birth, which could take weeks, then must take it and my other identity materials to the Department of Public Safety to have a new ID photo taken, pay the $16 application fee, and wait four to six more weeks for the new ID to arrive. It could be well over a month or more before I gain access to the money I earned and was going use for food. I only need $100 now for the phone bill, but still need $260 for electricity. We also need food and hygiene supplies, but those are obviously not as pressing.

ALT Please help us to avoid loss of essential services. Our phones/internet and electricity are vitally important for our survival and well-being. I need to be able to communicate, and we need power for fresh food, cooking, and heat in our apartment. It's cold, even in South Texas. Also, I haven't mentioned the holiday because I can't get my children anything for it, not even a good meal, if I can't even provide safe and stable housing, so please help my children and I if you are able.
