This #CarersRightsDay our Carers Leads wanted to share why they think Carers Rights Day is important.
You can learn more about Carers Support from NSFT, or how to get in touch with our Carers Leads, on our website, here nsft.nhs.uk/carers
ALT "Carers Rights Day is an important reminder, that the support and recognition carers deserve should extend far beyond just one day. Every day, unpaid carers make an incredible impact and it's time we ensure they receive the rights, resources, and respect they need, all year round." - Neil Carers Lead
ALT "Carers Rights Day is a time to recognise and appreciate the millions of unpaid carers in the UK who dedicate themselves to supporting others. Their hard work and compassion often go unnoticed, but they are vital to our communities. Let’s work together to build a service that values and supports carers every step of the way." - Julie, Carers Lead

"Thank you for today, so amazed with x's progress and it’s all credit to you. His mother is amazed and really proud, I don’t think she ever thought it would be possible."
Great work Abigail!
ALT What do you most enjoy about NSFT? I love completing needle desensitisation, I have had lots of success across Suffolk. I also enjoy supporting other NHS colleagues to apply reasonable adjustments and work creatively to support our Learning Disability population. What are you most proud of? I most proud of the positive impact I’ve had on reducing health inequalities amongst our patients with learning disabilities in Suffolk.

It is a privilege to support our service users and their families/carers. It is always important to keep our service users as our focus." - Sharon, Charge Nurse
ALT "I always say that LD nursing is like a puzzle. You need to understand how to help patients to achieve their best life and sometimes to find missing bits. It is all achievable, it just needs time, passion and empathy." - Svetlana, Assistant Practitioner
ALT "I’m training to be a mental health nurse to accomplish a wealth of knowledge that will support me to give the very best evidence- base to deliver the best care and support I can to people withing LD services, I want to make a difference in their lives" - Mel student nurse
