๐บ๐ธ๐ฎ๐ท The U.S. and Iran are telling very different stories about the money.
Iran's Mehr news agency reported the deal commits Washington to releasing $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets during the 60-day talks, with half handed over before negotiations even begin.
A senior U.S. official flatly denied it to Axios, calling the claim "spin."
"This is a pay-for-performance deal and no frozen funds will be released without the Iranians implementing their commitments."
Off to a flying start, and they haven't even sat down yet.

๐บ๐ธ Trump says he'll restart strikes on Iran if it doesn't reach a final nuclear deal.
He said the U.S. would either go back to attacking Tehran or become "the guardian of the Middle East" in return for 20% of the region's revenues.
He insists the deal means Iran "can only enrich for nonmilitary purposes. Forever."
But asked if that meant the same 3.67% cap as the Obama deal he tore up, he wouldn't give a number.
That limit isn't actually settled. It's one of the main things still on the table when talks begin Friday in Switzerland.
