A lot of people hating on this but as someone who has been view botted for 15,000 before when my real viewership was closer to 200... This is a small thing to assist with malicious viewbotting. If you can't think of a reason to ever use this, then congrats. You've never been viewbotted.
Earlier this month, we shared plans to cap CCV on channels our systems detect are receiving sustained, significant inauthentic traffic - and we’ll continue applying those caps as part of our ongoing viewbot detection work. Now, we’re introducing a new, optional View Count Cap feature that creators can use if they believe they're being targeted by bots. Set a cap based on your normal audience size, and we will cap your CCV to match that value. You can turn it on ahead of time as a preventative measure, or enable it during a stream if you think your channel is being targeted. The optional cap stays in place until you turn it off. Partners will have access to this feature to start, and we plan to expand to our wider community soon. Note, you aren’t required to turn the self-cap on. This feature is being offered for you to use as you deem appropriate, and you can use it at your discretion. We’ll continue to explore ways to target viewbots and protect our community from botting across the board. To apply the optional cap, head to your Navigate to Settings > Stream Manager: dashboard.twitch.tv/settings…

Listen, I like some of Google's products. What the hell do they know about mosquitoes
BREAKING: Google is planning to release 32 million mosquitoes across Florida and California. The company has asked the EPA for permission to proceed, with the public given until June 5 to respond. The mosquitoes are infected with Wolbachia bacteria, which stops them from reproducing and slowly collapses the wild population from within. Google's previous Debug Project trial in California's Central Valley nearly eliminated mosquitoes from three test sites entirely. A separate trial in Singapore cut dengue cases by 70% within 12 months. Google has now released over 1 billion mosquitoes across four continents. This new proposal is the largest deployment in US history.

I love that he has yet to reply to this..
Hi Amir, I appreciate your reply to my concerns however, have you yourself actually read your own TOS? Although 7.6 does explicitly state that it is solely for the purpose of providing the service and for displaying it on the website, 7.7 and 7.8 actually open this back up to granting not only you and your company, but also any other app user access to a creator's content to thus use it however they wish.. INCLUDING granting app users and yourself the ability to "distribute" this content with 7.8 explicitly stating the right to distribute "over computer networks and in various media". 7.3 is actually even worse than those two mentioned above as it explicitly states "You acknowledge that we may choose to use and reuse the Content in any way, with or without attribution, and at our sole discretion." You cannot seriously argue that this is solely for the purpose of providing the service. There is no "solely" listed anywhere near this! You deny doing this yet, it’s right there! While we dig into this more, as this is clearly news to you, let me point out that section 17.2 grants Own App the rights to anything anyone submits "for any purpose, without compensation or attribution." You also stated "That means we can NOT use your content to earn revenues by licensing it to 3rd party advertisers" when 7.6 in your T&Cs clearly says that it is "sublicensable, transferrable." You quite literally have failed to read or even understand your own T&Cs. Because 7.3, 7.7 and 7.8 explicitly state something different from 7.6, you're correct in that there is a night and day comparison to other application T&Cs. This difference however, is that your platform T&Cs are even LESS specific than many other platforms out there. From TikTok directly: (3.5) "To provide the Platform, we need certain rights from you (called a license)." (5.1) "If you delete your account, these Terms (as may be amended) will terminate as an agreement between you and us, except for obligations that remain in place which by their nature should survive the termination of these Terms, including the obligations set out in: Section 3.5 “Ownership of content and grant of licenses,” Section 4 “Limitation of liability,” Section 5 "Suspending or ending our relationship," Section 7 “Indemnity,” Section 8 “Resolving disputes,” and Section 9 “Other." From Instagram directly: (4.3) "As part of our agreement, you also give us permissions that we need to provide the Service." (6) "This license will end when your content is deleted from our systems." From YouTube directly (which is arguably the most vague out of the three however much more clear than Own app): (Your Content and Conduct) "You also grant each other user of the Service a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to access your Content through the Service, and to use that Content, including to reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works, display, and perform it, only as enabled by a feature of the Service (such as video playback or embeds). For clarity, this license does not grant any rights or permissions for a user to make use of your Content independent of the Service." From Own App: (7.3) "You acknowledge that we may choose to use and reuse the Content in any way, with or without attribution, and at our sole discretion." (7.6) "You hereby grant Own. App a worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive, sublicensable, transferrable and royalty-free license to your User Content as soon as it is first uploaded to or created on the Service, solely for the purpose of providing the Service and displaying your User Content on the Website." (7.7) "You also hereby grant each user of the Service a non-exclusive, perpetual license to access the Content you Post through the Service, and to use, edit, modify, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display and perform Content, including after your termination of your Account or the Service." (7.8) "We may modify, adapt, or create derivative works from your Content in order to transmit, display or distribute it over computer networks and in various media and/or make changes to your Content as are necessary to conform and adapt that Content to any requirements or limitations of any networks, devices, services or media." TikTok, Instagram and YouTube all explicitly state how another user may use your own content, how the app needs permission in order to run, and how they themselves as a platform may use your content (explicitly stating things like ads), as well as mentioning what happens with your content once you delete your account. Your platform’s T&Cs completely lack all of this! Instead, your platform allows both you (Own App) AND any other user to take another user’s content and use it for any reason, EVEN AFTER THEY DELETE THEIR ACCOUNT. Your Press Release with Ghost explicitly claims that creators "retain 100% ownership of their content, audience, brand and earnings" yet your TOS quite literally grants not only your company, but also every other app user a perpetual license to reproduce, distribute, modify, and create derivative works of that content INCLUDING after the creator deletes their account.. That is absolutely NOT 100% ownership. You are quite literally saying sure, you keep the copyright to your content, but you need to sign away every single right that would even make a copyright matter in order to use our platform. So please, once again Amir, tell me how this lacks research and is not constructive. I appreciate your reply however, please only do so if a.) you actually know and understand what your T&Cs state and b.) if you change the Own App slogan from "I Own My Sh*t" to "We Own Your Sh*t" because, well, you practically do.. I appreciate you. Cheers, Primroze Supreme Overlord @PrimrozeTV

WAIT WAIT WAIT HAHAHAHAHAH THEY'RE ALREADY DOING IT.. Omg you cannot make this up. They're literally TAKING YOUR CONTENT and using it in ads on other platforms 😭 without attribution too is insane... Hey @amirsaysX how does this give you "the right to promote YOU as we for example do with our weekly creator of the week campaigns since a while." if you're not crediting the creator's MAKING THE CONTENT

"creators deserve better infrastructure — a place where the work compounds and the opportunities are real" I love that stealing creators work without paying them is "better infrastructure"

"If you're a creator who cares about what you make and wants a platform that cares back, this is your next step." A platform can take a creators content, edit it & use it for their own promotion without ever having to pay the creator.. and it's ok because... they.. care?
