We had the BEST morning at WES celebrating this year’s top 2 books in our Nonficton March Madness Tourney. “Wat Takes His Shot” by Cheryl Kim was crowned this year’s champion. Our assembly kicked off with a knockout battle between students, staff & MHS bball players. #WeAreRSU18

Our students had the pleasure of meeting Shihan, Head Karate Instructor at Club Naha Karate at the AYC, & enjoyed seeing demonstrations by his students.Students had opportunities to participate in activities led by Shihan. The spring session at the AYC runs 4/28-6/14. #WeAreRSU18

We were able to offer a ride to school in a fire truck and police cruiser as special prizes for BINGO last week thanks to our amazing Oakland Fire Dept. & Police Dept. 🚒💙🚔What a memorable morning for these two students today. Thankful for our supportive community! #WeAreRSU18

WES 3rd/4th graders had a blast at their first day of Crazy 8s Math Club after school on Monday. The focus was Glow Stick Geometry. Students enjoyed creating 3D glowing shapes. We are excited to share that we had 34 students interested so we were able to have 2 clubs! #WeAreRSU18

Thank you to our amazing WES/ATW PTA for providing our students an opportunity to visit the Waterville Opera House to see Once Upon a Time: Cinderella and Jack & the Beanstalk. Our students & staff had the best time and loved the performance. #WeAreRSU18

Ms. Desmarais & Mr. Polley team taught a lesson that enhanced their students’ understanding of solutions and mixtures by creating lava lamps. Students did a nice job explained their observations & why things happened. An awesome hands on activity to solidify concepts. #WeAreRSU18

The Williams gym was electric as our staff/students gave the Messo Boys Bball team a wonderful WES send off for tonight’s State Championship game. From minute to win it challenges to Thuderstruck with rhythm sticks-fun was had by all. We wish them all the best! #WeAreRSU18 ❤️🏀🦅

What a beautiful day 🌞for our Principal’s 100 Club reward! We had a fabulous time sledding & after sledding we enjoyed warming up with hot chocolates topped with lots of marshmallows. Congrats to this wonderful group of kiddos. Sun, snow & smiles -a perfect morning!🩵#WeAreRSU18
