ALT Castle Grayskull is a fortress located on the planet Eternia. it is the target of numerous attacks by Skeletor, Hordak and the Snake Men, all of whom believe that the secrets inside will allow them to conquer Eternia and the entire universe, and become the masters of the universe. Centuries ago, during the Great Wars, Castle Grayskull was first built as the temporary seat of the legitimate government of Eternia when the Royal Palace in the traditional capital of Eternos was occupied by King Hiss and the Snake Men. During the Great Wars and until the reign of King Grayskull, Castle Grayskull was also a center of religion, particularly the worship of Eternia's Goddess. More recently, Castle Grayskull was the home of the Sorceress of Castle Grayskull, with King D'Vann Grayskull's wife Queen Veena being the first Sorceress. Veena was succeeded by Kuduk Ungol, who in turn was succeeded by Teela Na, the current Sorceress of Grayskull.

ALT Shortly after, the elite warriors return, but without He-Man or the key. They had managed to locate the device, but had encountered an overwhelming force of Eternity and were therefore unable to obtain it. In his boundless rage, Skeletor vaporizes Saurod with a magical lightning bolt before sending the secret group, this time led by Evil-Lyn and accompanied by a contingent of his robot soldiers, back to Earth. Saurod's fate is meant to serve as a foretaste of what awaits them should they disappoint him again.

ALT The Sorceress continues to be a major character in the 1989 He-Man (toyline) and its accompanying media, such as The New Adventures of He-Man. In the toyline's accompanying Minicomics the Sorceress appeared in her classic falcon form, and warned Prince Adam that the Galactic Guardians, tricked by Skeletor, were siphoning the Power of Grayskull. She later appeared with a totally different chrome armor, evoking the futuristic feeling of the new series, saying that He-Man would not become Prince Adam again, and that He-Man now had to say the name of the Starship Eternia in order to transform. In the New Adventures animated series, the Sorceress continued to serve as He-Man's guide, instructing him in the "way of the magic". The Sorceress warned He-Man that travellers from the future had come looking for him, and that Skeletor had tricked them into believing he was the hero they sought.

ALT In the eyes of Eternia's Royal Court, Adam is a shiftless and inept playboy. Most Eternians perceive him as a klutz and/or a coward - notably his father King Randor, and Royal Guard Captain Teela. Because whenever trouble arises on Eternia, Prince Adam makes a timely exit...so that he can secretly become He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe, who then defeats (usually with little or no effort) whatever enemy threatens the Eternian throne and/or Castle Grayskull.
