The monotony of prison can extinguish intrinsic motivation. For that reason, we provide ree books and lessons to people in prison.Through self-directed exercises, participants can restore confidence, build coalitions of support, and prepare for higher levels of success. Since we understand the challenges, we’re committed to stay true to our mission.

We are grateful to the community members who wrote and shared this thoughtful piece, and we are especially grateful to @cz_binance for believing in and sponsoring our mission. When I first spoke with CZ about Prison Professors, I explained the many challenges we faced. Many people do not want to see pathways that open opportunities for justice-impacted people to earn freedom. I explained that bringing meaningful reforms would take years of unpaid work, persistence, and proof. We would need to show the progress people make when they work through our programs. We would need to create and distribute books, courses, and lessons at scale. We would need to build trust with the agency. We would need to collect data that allows us to compare and contrast the preparations of people who work through our programs with those who do not. Since he experienced the system first hand, CZ saw the need for our mission. He agreed to make a multi-year commitment, and always provided his contributions in crypto. As he expressed in Freedom of Money, he has continued to support our mission. I confirm that CZ’s contribution is within the range stated in this article, though I would leave it up to him to discuss specific amounts. What matters most is the impact: his support, together with the generosity of the Web3 community, gives us resources to keep building. In fact, it was CZ’s book that brought awareness to our work and connected us with the #BNB Web3 community. Every day, we work to advance this mission. We will continue creating pathways for people to prepare, document their growth, and earn higher levels of liberty through merit. With gratitude to CZ and to the Web3 community, we keep building.

After making presentations in a Pennsylvania prison to advance our mission, I am returning to questions from our community. Today I'm responding to a question on why we design our our courses for self-directed learning.

This video responds to questions about how I began our relationship with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Today I spent the day presenting inside of the high security prison, where I got an opportunity to share stories about the importance of using time inside to prepare outside. During the presentation, I even took an opportunity to share about the amazing support we’ve received from the #BNB Web3 community that has been so supportive of our mission. When the organizers deem it suitable to launch the live AMA sessions, we will begin regular interactive conversations. Tomorrow will be another trip to the prison, with a different group. Our nonprofit is the beneficiary of this type of web3 technology. One group came together to build support for our mission to offer free educational resources to people in prison. The PrisonProfessorsToken.com community raised more than $500k to support our nonprofit's mission.

The mark of greatness

We have launched a beta version of the Binance Academy courses on Prison Professors today. Our team needs to rebuild the main navigation bar, and we intend to finish by early next week. As promised, I have reached out to CZ to request a video interview that we can share with the Prison Professors community, but I do not yet have confirmation on a date. Those who have read Freedom of Money know that CZ values time, and I am always respectful of his time and many commitments, grateful for the support he has given to our mission at Prison Professors.
