21 years ago… ENTER THE SANDMAN. One of the greatest wrestling entrances of all time in front of(through) 2500 fans at @NYE_Hammerstein . @Szzandman1 Some great items shown in PC, including ticket and tough card but by favorite is the 1 of 1 ORIGINAL 35mm. This was shot by another legend, George Tahinos . I purchased directly from George before he passed. May he rest in peace. 🙏 This exact image was used as cover of “Darkside of Ring”. @OTD_in_WWE @ProMemorabilia @CardPurchaser @HistoryOfECW @ECWDivaFrancine @THETOMMYDREAMER @bigbubbadudley1 @TestifyDVon @JCLayfield

Can’t believe it’s been 11 years since the American Dream Dusty Rhodes passed away. Dusty was a fun wrestler to root for and his promos were second to none. @CardPurchaser @Tweet_Wrestling @LasVegasSlabs @RealRichHopkins @Axel_Foley13 @ProMemorabilia @OTD_in_WWE @Rod25795921 #dustyrhodes #wwe

This Hart Foundation Iwo Jima piece has a pretty cool story. Bret and the families of each of the other four members of the Hart Foundation have prints of it, but you wouldn’t even believe who bought the original from me if I told you… Because it was Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Little bit of a longer post here, but hopefully you all will follow along with me. I heard a horror story today of a deal on eBay gone completely sideways from an inexperienced seller. To be fair, this deal would have never gone sideways in the US because of the authenticity program, but outside the US it definitely did. I won’t get into too many of the details other than the fact that this guy’s auction was won by a 1 feedback account on an expensive card, let’s call it 2500 bucks. Ships the card with video evidence of him packing and shipping it, and the guy says the classic scam line of “I received it with no card inside.” That’s not the point of this post, however. The point of this post is that wrestling never used to be big enough where we had to think differently about things like trust and relationships and how those things impact the way we buy and sell cards. The wrestling cards were never that valuable where this stuff really had a target for scammers and people who want to fuck around. Now that is not the case, and I really hope that people all understand that even though scammers have always operated in all areas of sports cards, things need to be different now in wrestling cards where both buyers and sellers need to take more precautions to protect themselves. Sometimes those “too good to be true” type of offers are really too good to be true. It’s okay to walk away from a deal that seems fishy. It’s okay to ask for references. It’s okay to require protection on payments and not do friends and family. Don’t take risks you can’t afford to lose. I’ve used middle men, I’ve done weird deal structures I’ve done it all to avoid risk on shady deals, and I’ve still been scammed. There is no such thing as risk free buying and selling. Trust your gut and use your relationships to enhance your experience. If you don’t have trusted relationships, this is your wake up call to build them. Never collect on an island. We’ve all seen the shill bids and stupid zero feedback winners on 1/1 WWE auctions for the last 3 years, it’s only going to get worse as the space gets more popular. Protecting yourself on both sides of a deal has never been more important. I hope people really take this to heart, as it’s always been important, but more so now.

You have an hour to spare 😳 ck out the link. Have 30 min.. change to 2x. 😃 I brought on a couple wrestling pieces on with me so thought some might find it interesting. youtu.be/YlfdYyUyLY8 Original negatives and type 1 photos are(imo) THE WAY to get a 100 percent iron clad photo match. Period publications of any kind(if printed from original negative) are also good. These items have not been/cannot be tainted or manipulated by way of computer software etc. Below are some items that assisted in the photo matching process on two of my biggest wrestling pieces(Flair Jungle Robe and Hogan boots). Flair- Original 35mm Wrestlemania VI program Cover Royal Rumble 1990 - Panini card circa 1991 using 1990 Rumble image. @ProMemorabilia @CardPurchaser @OTD_in_WWE @GameUsedPodcast @card_guide @Tweet_Wrestling
UPDATE: With research through the internet, networking with other Wrestling enthusiasts as well as utilizing original type 1 photos in my collection, I was able to determine without a shadow of a doubt that the Jungle robe was used across three decades(THE LONGEST tenure of any robe). The first confirmed match so far was 7/3/1977 against Ricky Steamboat. The last year was 1996 (including a tag team match on nitro w/Arn Anderson w/“Woman” & Elizabeth waking “down that isle”). Confirming this is the same robe as the one without the brown ostrich feathers from the 1970s through Type 1 photography was critical. It really is not talked about/known BUT the only real 💯 photo match is through a physical type 1 photo. This means.. there is no way to manipulate the image digitally. There are so many designs/ stones on this Robe making the match pretty easy once the adobe was in hand coupled /w my Type 1 photos. Back to the robe itself. The robe was originally created in 1977(at the latest) by Karen McDaniel. It can be seen amongst other robes as part of the wrestling peacock by the mid Atlantic gateway. It is the EARLIEST known robe to still exist. It was used in original form up until 1982(latest confirmed). The Robe was rebranded with the addition of brown ostrich Feathers and a patch on the reverso(by famed maker Olivia Walker). It used from 1985(earliest confirmed). There appears to be a slight repair on the reverse where the patch runs up. This is probably why it was MIA for 2 years- it would be great to know how that small “rip” happened and when/where took place @ricflairnatureboy ! “The Nature Boy” used this robe against many greats including Steamboat, Magnum TA, Dusty Rhodes,Windham(battle of belts) and many more. It was also worn against Kevin Von Erich at WCCW Parade of Champions 2. It was so popular that it was chosen to be on display with the debut of the BIG GOLD belt. -ICONIC wrestling moments. I am still compiling info but it is one of the most significant Flair Robes in existence and I am fortunate to be its curator- hopefully for another near 50 years. If you should have any additional information regarding the Robe, please lmk.

43 years ago…Hulk won the first International Wrestling Grand Prix championship in Tokyo, Japan. Hulk Hogan defeating Antonio Inoki by countout in the final by knocking him out with the AX BOMB. THIS was Hogan’s first BIG moment and Championship. This is one of my favorite tickets in PC. I have seen less than a handful of legitimate(correctly labeled tickets) tickets to this event signed by The Hulkster. Type 1 photo, OG poster and cards also shown for added nostalgia. Thanks @RealRichHopkins for the 1998 Bandai add! @CardPurchaser @OTD_in_WWE @ProMemorabilia
