This finding of irreparable harm, and the reasons cited, isn’t unique to the Sorsby decision (which the post seems to indicate).
A number of other federal and state courts have made the same finding in lawsuits challenging NCAA eligibility decisions prior to the Sorsby case.
The Sorsby decision was never about only one student-athlete. We are already seeing downhill effects in other eligibility cases in which state courts are allowing student-athletes to circumvent longstanding eligibility rules, citing Sorsby outcome as part of the court’s precedent.
Another example of why we need Congress to pass the Protect College Sports Act, authorizing the association to apply common sense eligibility rules consistently for all student-athletes and schools, regardless of the state or local court system.

#Bears just wrapped up minicamp and the offseason program. Big day for K Cairo Santos. Nailed a 60-yarder thru a cross wind in a late game situation. That was after connecting from 58. I had him 6-for-6 on the day. Snap on the 60-yarder? Low. Didn’t see the snapper.

The “athlete comp market” is uncapped no matter how the judge rules. The only ways to cap: By bargaining with the athletes or Congress providing an antitrust exemption. The latter action would likely be legally challenged.

In a 90-min hearing today, an NCAA attorney argued against a challenge brought by plaintiff lawyers who claim multimedia rights partners, apparel brands and corporate sponsors should *not* be deemed “associated entities,” - a move that would likely uncap the athlete comp market.

INSANE: Cameron Wake did not make his #NFL debut until he was 27 years old.
Wake went undrafted out of Penn State, was cut by the #Giants, then had to rebuild his career in the CFL with the BC Lions.
After dominating Canada with back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year seasons, he finally got his NFL shot with the #Dolphins.
Wake still finished with 100.5 career sacks in the NFL and became a 5-time Pro Bowler.
Truly remarkable turnaround.
