Appalachian State is reportedly firing head coach Shawn Clark after missing a bowl game in 2024. He was 40-24 as the head coach of his alma mater.
ALT Appalachian State is reportedly firing head coach Shawn Clark after five full seasons leading the Mountaineers program. ESPN's Pete Thamel first reported Clark's firing. Appalachian State finished this season 5-6 and Clark was 40-24 overall as the program's head coach. The Mountaineers are not bowl-eligible after their game against Liberty was canceled due to Hurricane Helene. The Mountaineers closed the regular season with a 29-20 loss at Georgia Southern.
