What I cannot understand is why the Nowak parents had to go to 10 Downing Street. Why didn't Keir Starmer visit them? It feels wrong and lacking common understanding #Starmer unless of course this is what the family wanted to do.

The Andy Burnham Makerfield election provides all the journalists the chance to fill online space and broadcast media content. In my uniformed view, policy won't be the battle ground; it will be about showing Keir Starmer the door.

I listened to Starmer's speech. It came across directed at the Labour party and not at the public. The same language, not much content as to what change was. His family mentioned (brother and sister). Europe, youth, and steel (but no detail or nothing new). Re-hash not re-set.

Why do politicians (i.e. Mr and Mrs Starmer) hold hands with their partner (today at election)? Not many long-married couples continually hold hands, unless on Escape to the Country or some such programme or late night after quite a few drinks. Or is it I am just an old grump

John Higgins won't give up. Shaun Murphy has had some brilliant pots and breaks but last two frames painful for him. I still find it a hard watch with Higgins..up,down, walk around down, up and then pot. Its amazing he does so well..obvs a great player. #snooker

Stockfish level 2 - helps me win each time; Stockfish Level 3, 9 times out of 10 beats me over at Lichess. I did have one win at level 5 (a few years ago during covid, but never again) but level 3 is hard) @lichess #chess

Yes..at long last got past Stockfish Level 3. Played an aggressive game, with some sacrifices. End game was a bit slow though. @lichess

What's the point of Parliament? The Speaker thinks its valid to hold the PM to account to a cross-party c'mtee. The same PM tells his MPs, they to obey the order to vote against. This is the opposite of integrity. It's full-on arrogance and contempt; it fails the public #Starmer

I've just listened (Times Radio). They played a clip of Starmer; he was talking about shoplifting. He raises and quickens his voice saying police will investigate for goods stolen under £200. Its as if he's trying to be passionate, but ends up like a robot at the end of its power

So @darrenpjones Keir Starmer makes a "mistake" by appointing Mandelson. He admits poor judgement. Olly Robbins uses his judgement, carries out his duty and process and passes Mandelson, with mitigations. For his judgement he's sacked. PM deliberately quotes OR out of context

It appears impossible to place Starmer into a position where he has to resign. His cabinet has to act but there is no reason for them to do so, and why would backbenchers take a risk on a new leader at this stage of parliament. Needs something dramatic to happen

This from @Geoffrey_Cox was titanic - a truly beautiful speech. He outshone those sat opposite. They could only watch. And nervously laugh. This should be seen by every new MP to understand what they do, & every new barrister to understand what we do.
