I'm seeing some comments about how this can deter corps from filing takedowns. While I understand the sentiment, this policy doesn't mean anything from a legal perspective.
It only affects those who aren't willing to go to court, i.e. community members.

A site policy has no legal value or bearing at all. It's not going to stop a fraudulent actor from filing a DMCA request, nor will it increase the barrier in doing so in any way at all.
A lawyer will simply ignore this passage, if they read this document at all.

If I spend many hours making something for free, then yeah, I think I should get some say in how & where it's uploaded.
This has nothing to do with deleting stuff after the fact in a fit of rage. Asking for permission before redistributing someone's work is basic human decency.
