Yesterday, the team of 5 million spoke loud and clear and made obvious that they wanted no part of the mendacity and divisiveness of the last government. What a gigantic repudiation of the hypocrisy and unkindness.

I want to give a shout out to my Covid Plan B colleagues. We went through some difficult times at the behest of this government and their lackeys. But we persevered and it is gratifying to see that Kiwis have rejected the lies and the authoritarianism of the Labour government.

Thankfully, our long nightmare is over. I am sure I will find plenty of fault with the NatACT government. But the mendacity, vileness and incompetence of this last government was so extra-ordinary that I feel as if a great weight has been lifted tonight.

Really sad. Would’ve thought Ayesha would be above this. Hipkins got Covid that’s why the original debate isn’t going ahead. This is a really yuck deliberate attempt to manipulate less engaged voters who don’t know this. Disinformation.
Christopher Luxon committed to the Leaders debate so he should show up.

Ummm...sorry to disappoint you. profiles.auckland.ac.nz/a-ch…

He’s obviously not a professor. In the US teachers at uni are called “Professor”. I once taught for a US organisation based in California and was called “Professor” when I was a teacher. Sad if he’s a teacher though, as he’s spreading misinformation.

Is James Shaw "very smart"? If so, then what is he doing in the Green Party? 😃

Or the "world beating" Covid response! What happened to that hubris?

Despicable but "incredible"? Saudi Arabia butchered Jamal Khashoggi in Turkey, Putin routinely kills dissidents in other countries and the US even kills its own citizens (Anwar al awlaki) on foreign soil. Another example, I guess, that India is now a player on the global scene!
Incredible news out of Canada.

Why is much of our policy making based on back-of-the-envelope calculations? Our policy makers can and must do better than this. My take on National's tax cuts and general policy making in NZ. thepress.co.nz/a/nz-news/350…

I have never heard of anyone getting a Master's degree without getting a Bachelor's degree since the latter is a pre-requisite for the former. How did James Shaw achieve this? Is this even possible? Did he get an undergrad somewhere else?

The Govt wants to overhaul content regulation. Apparently, our censorship laws aren't fit for purpose- but maybe censorship is the wrong path? Even if DIA gets its way (unlikely, given the public response) what happens when international platforms simply don't play ball?
CENSORSHIP ALERT: The New Zealand Government sent a letter to social media company Gab demanding they take down some linked content. Gab has refused. news.gab.com/2023/08/gab-sta…

Donald Trump is a grifter, liar, narcissist, adulterer and yet he remains the front-runner for the Republican nomination. He has a real shot at becoming President again in 2024. How and why? Thoughts here: bassettbrashandhide.com/post….
