If you ever considered running for local office and thought “Hmm. I’m not sure I’m smart enough.” Rest assured that no matter how fucking dumb you are, there is someone in office right now that is even fucking dumber.

SCOOP: Top White House officials believe NYT reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan obtained audio recordings of Situation Room meetings for their new book. Such a taped leak would be a shocking breach of one of the most secure settings on Earth. axios.com/2026/06/14/trump-s…

He’s tanned, rested, and ready.
Just saying… No Democrat has won the White House this century without a Biden on the ticket.

I think it is fairly common for your T-shirts to be sold overseas when you lose the championship game.
A young boy in northern Afghanistan wearing a Confederate flag T-shirt, photographed in 2002. The global secondhand clothing trade moves millions of used garments from North America and Europe to markets throughout Africa, Asia, and the Middle East each year. By the time many of these items reach their final destination, the original cultural, historical, or political significance of the designs they carry is often unknown to the people wearing them. In 2002, Afghanistan was emerging from decades of upheaval, including the Soviet-Afghan War, years of civil conflict, and Taliban rule. Imported and donated goods played an important role in the economy, and secondhand clothing was commonly sold in local markets. The Confederate battle flag originated during the American Civil War (1861–1865) as a military banner used by several Confederate Army units. In the years that followed, it became linked to Southern identity, but it was also adopted by segregationist movements during the 20th century, making it one of the most controversial symbols in American history. The scale of the secondhand clothing industry is immense. The United States exports hundreds of millions of pounds of used clothing every year, with many garments passing through multiple countries and distributors before eventually being purchased by consumers thousands of miles from where they were first sold.

The losers gotta go somewhere.
The Belmont Stakes is sponsored by Freshpet? Can't think of a worse product to sponsor a horse race than a dog food company.

I want to have the energy of that guy on the maracas.
“Ghost Riders in the Sky” wasn’t originally a guitar instrumental at all. It was a 1948 cowboy ballad written by Stan Jones. Neil LeVang’s 1961 version transformed it into a guitar showcase.

NEW: Indiana's Curt Cignetti says College Football is in danger if something doesn't change soon: “The market is pretty expensive — it’s scary. It’s scary. I think players should get paid. But something’s going to have to be done in the next 12 to 24 months, or universities might not be able to handle this. College football won’t exist the way we’re going right now.” (via @ColinMcMahon31) on3.com/college/indiana-hoos…

Someone taking positions you support is not so much about character, but rather “Hoosier common sense.”
The suggestion that taking political positions you support is a sign of “real” character has long been a rhetorical maneuver among people who don’t actually care about character or integrity and think politics is everything. I’ve followed this tactic since Clinton, where it was nearly perfected by progressive apologists, but it’s become bipartisan in the Trump era. I think it’s pathetic regardless of the partisan valence.

Once a measure becomes a target…
I know a few people inside Big Tech, and I'm sorry to report but Token Psychosis is real. Their bosses are hyperfixated on AI usage and tracking who uses the most tokens, so they're essentially running agents 24/7 on do-nothing tasks just to use more tokens. Incredible stuff.

Many (most) taxing units don’t get their max levy because part is used to fund circuit breaker tax credits used to reduce bills to the cap. Increased AV reduces the rate and in turn the tax cap losses which increases net revenue.
Why is this? Why don’t Indiana local governments automatically benefit from data centers? Because local operating revenue is levy-controlled. A major data center may add assessed value, but the county’s property tax levy is still capped by the Maximum Levy Growth Quotient. In practice, that new AV can change tax rates and tax-burden distribution, but it generally won’t create new spendable revenue. And if the data center’s workers live outside our county, we’ll see no corresponding local income-tax gain. I won’t ask my county to assume permanent public liabilities (infrastructure, especially) with zero revenue growth. As I see it, it’s like inheriting a house you can’t rent out, sell, or live in, but you’re obliged to maintain it. That’s not an asset by anyone’s definition.
