Again, this is about the white power structure seeking to reify itself & find compromise between its most extreme & moderate factions when faced with increasing pressure to allow the birth of multiracial democracy. This is at least the 4th time we’ve gone thru this in the USA

The ongoing history of Black & Indigenous resistance to white settler colonialism is actively suppressed to maintain a narrative that white colonizers granted us freedom & that we must peacefully petition them via the system they established if we hope to achieve racial equality.

We cannot honestly address US public health, pandemic preparedness, or biosecurity without confronting how our shameful system of mass incarceration––25% of world's incarcerated with only 4% of global population––undermines health & safety for everyone. healthaffairs.org/do/10.1377…

One of my junior SEED Lab members said they're applying to our grad program because being a member of this lab is SO BENEFICIAL to them and I thought today was gon' be tear-free but I was wrong.😭❤ I'm always stunned & humbled when they talk about what our group means to them.✊🏽

I do this with all my twitter polls and it turns out you all love me.
A school board official on the radio jut said “we surveyed teachers and, after counting ‘non responses’ as votes for ‘in person’, about 50% of teachers want to teach in person this fall”. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️YOU CANNOT IMPUTE THE ANSWER YOU PREFER WHEN YOUR DATA ARE MISSING🔊🔊🔊

It would be interesting if, before you were allowed to download a paper, you had to input information on what your prior was on the exposure-outcome relationship. Would provide a wealth of info and allow interesting Bayesian analyses.

So the question is, given how steeply hospitalizations have risen, how steeply will deaths go up and will it mirror the increase in hospitalizations? My hope is we have learned how to treat COVID better but I’m not sure yet.
Our daily update is published. Both tests completed (758k) and new cases (65K) were near all-time highs. States reported 855 deaths, in line with the higher level we saw last week.
