Germany currently 7โ€1 up against Curaรงao. I remember Hungary beating El Salvador 10-1 in 1982. Checking my memory was right saw that in 1954, Hungary scored 9 against Korea AND 8 against West Germany!

"Oh, Diego Maradonna (x3) England, England, Out, out out!" (For younger viewers, this is a reference to the 'hand of God' incident in 1986). But, it seems to me that one of the great mysteries of the Universe is who writes the football songs that everyone seems to know?

Excellent, Scotland fans. However, for next time. "And in the past, they must remain [TWO, THREE], but we can still rise now..." Don't come in early! ๐Ÿ˜€
Congratulations to Scotland. They maybe the only nation on Earth to be completely drunk today but you have to hand it to them. They have the best national anthem bar none.

Pleased to hear fans continuing to sing Flower of Scotland in the mixolydian mode, resisting the temptation to follow the bagpipes sharpening the third last note! (Pipes also tuned in the mixolydian mode, but the wrong one for the anthem!) Music theory lesson over. As you were!
Hereโ€™s the Scotland Tartan Army belting out Flower of Scotland at Boston fan zone for the Scotland v Haiti World Cup match. ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟโšฝ๏ธ

My favourite part of Jack Middleton's speech was when he was talking about the Scottish Labour Leader's chuminess with Peter Mandelson, and the auto subtitles made their own comment! ๐Ÿ˜†
Anas Sarwar getting tore a new arse is something I will never tire of.

๐Ÿ˜› The thing is, bots canโ€™t vote - as the Scottish election demonstrated.

The Israeli bots attacking the SNP were probably hard to spot because they were virtually indistinguishable from the twitter accounts of the Scottish mainstream media!
NEW: An Israeli private influence firm is suspected of meddling in elections in Scotland and New York City as part of a wider global interference operation, according to Franceโ€™s state disinformation watchdog

It's obviously entirely legitimate for Baroness Davidson to call for tactical voting in the Aberdeen South by-election. But why does she thinks folk should vote for her pretty minor party rather than her larger Reform bedfellows?

Newspaper passive sentence alert. Always ask "by whom?" when you read this; it invariably turns out to be no one of any signficance. "SNP slammed..." by whom? Anas Sarwar!๐Ÿฅฑ "powerful [sic!] Westminster committee under pressure..." by whom? Andrew Bowie! ๐Ÿคฃ
A powerful Westminster committee is under growing pressure to launch a probe into the Peter Murrell scandal after John Swinney rejected calls for a meaningful inquiry into the issue. mol.im/a/15893135 via @DailyMail

That's the sound of the bottom of the barrel being well and truly scraped. It's over. Can someone bottle the tears of the Daily Record? ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿคฃ
EXC: An SNP expert says an earlier guilty plea by Peter Murrell would have had a โ€œmajor impactโ€ on the Holyrood election, even risking the SNP/Green pro-indy majority. dailyrecord.co.uk/news/politโ€ฆ

While less serious than his substantive contribution, Malcolm Offard hoped Scotland would get to the last 16 for the first time since 1974. Technically only 16 teams were in the 1974 finals, but Scotland also qualified in 1978 when there were also only 16 teams!

Important point here. Those who used to be mainstream journalists have in the last couple of weeks engaged in the most crackpot conspiracy theories to justify calls for an Inquiry for no other purpose than entertainment. They'll have to work hard to move back from the fringe.
The knives will surely be out for Sarwar & Baillie now. Both have spent the last three weeks on Murrell and have succeeded in opening up their own party finances to scrutiny. The Labour Holyrood group must be raging. They should have been reflecting on May's disaster instead of indulging in the very behaviour that caused it. And what of Sarwar's media cheerleaders? They're still in shock at the SNP landslide in May and are clearly struggling to come to terms with it. They unwisely egged Sarwar on with the inquiry stunt that's now backfired. How about uncoupling yourselves from the BritNats guys and becoming actual journalists again?
