You’re cooked, homeboy. This is wacko stuff
Yesterday, a post from the Simsbury Public Library appeared on my Facebook feed. On the surface, it seemed harmless — a cheerful little announcement congratulating Ms. Katie on her promotion to Children’s Librarian and mentioning that her desk had been moved to a new office, I assume to the children department. They even shared a photo of her standing in a room.
But when I looked closer, something felt off. I couldn’t ignore the details in the picture — the colors, the symbols, the subtle hints scattered around the room. I circled several of them. If it were just one item, I wouldn’t have thought twice. But when multiple objects in one small office all echo the same ideology, it stops being simple decoration. It becomes a message — deliberate, loud, and unmistakable.
And I can’t help but ask myself: why is this messaging appearing in a public library of all places? A place meant to nurture curiosity, not shape beliefs.
