Pressure - As adults we accept it being part of life’s journey, while at the same time sheltering children from it. I want my Ss to feel it, understand and embrace it. By building a healthy relationship with pressure now, they are better prepared later. 💎 #EducationNotActivity

Trust - What does it look like and do the Ss understand it? My experience tells me yes and I put that to the test as often as I can. Make it part of your daily conversation and show them through the agency you offer that you know they won't let you down. #EducationNotActivity

Set the tone - In an environment where every minute counts there’s always the pressure/temptation to shorten or skip class routines. Only once you make that error of judgement do you realise just how valuable they are to set your Ss body and mind in order. #EducationNotActivity

Student Coaches - It’s one thing to do something correctly, but something entirely different teaching it to someone else. My Ss are being given a glimpse into my world through this new leadership role and on this evidence I fear my job may be at risk! 😅🤩 #EducationNotActivity

Unfortunately such a poor reflection of an otherwise fantastic system. Old attitudes and too often the poor execution of PE mean for many it is still viewed as an educational irrelevance. Who in education in NI is using their voice to make a case for PE? Things need to change.
