Every year of my career as a writing teacher means reading fewer books. Squeezing in chapters, pages, sentences where I can. Never thought resistance would take such mundane forms. But oh, those words, sentences, pages, chapters….
So much damage through the South, taking down places in ways that have already been torn down in resources and access. Support #thelynxbooks and the important work they do in promoting banned books and the good lives they reflect.
Can’t believe this needs to be said. But I’m glad that one candidate—Harris— is discussing abortion in reality and in support of people having the basic right to make decisions about their own body.
So many of these moments of the past few years stop you in your tracks and call up a visceral reaction, and then the speed of life and change and trying to keep up with all the discombobulation take over. Biden’s withdrawal is one of these moments that demand long attention.

I cannot believe I am watching this, but the name in 80s lights, the droning meandering speechifying is so perplexing, that the appearance of Hulking Out Hulk Hogan somehow makes utter sense.
“Abortion can be love but at the same time loss…Abortion can be the right decision, and at the same time feels like the only decision among a set of horrible decisions. What always remains true is the patient is the one who is the expert of their lives.” Thank you @DrKSBrown
We need to trust people to know what's best for their bodies and lives.

A beautiful thing that the international, interdisciplinary field of #medhum/#healthhum has done is continue to make its new knowledge accessible across borders and in-person place after the depths of the Covid crisis. Huzzah! (See you there, virtually!)
