Yesterday outside the russian embassy, a man who I assume was russian tried telling me that Zelenskyy “stole money,” that Ukraine is corrupt, and that this is somehow why the war started — apparently because “his friends told him.”
I told him: “You don’t know my friends. I’m not interested in what you have to say. None of that justifies an illegal invasion.”
Then he had the audacity to tell me to “go to Ukraine.”
I replied: “That’s a terrible argument. Where did you get it from? The recycling bin?”
Later, I also had russians drive past me and stick their middle fingers up at me — so I did it right back.
At one point, I also had a stand-off with one of the russian embassy staff. He picked up the flowers left outside the embassy while I was standing there facing him directly. We held eye contact while I was holding the signed 23rd flag, a photo of Oleksii, and wearing the signed Siberian Battalion flag as a cape. I also had one eye painted as the Ukrainian national flag and the other as the Ukrainian resistance flag.
After that, he went back inside the embassy grounds, and I took my spot beside their spinning door.
