you were not brought upon this world to get it

The last time he tried doing any of this in a film, we got Ready Player One.
How do you know the alien didn’t say “no cap”? Prove it

Really liked Disclosure Day. Favourite part was that it has the exact same opening as Highlander.

Watched Kerosene Salesman's Wife.

We understand that that is what the movie is about. The difference is that that's why we think it's bad.
🎮 READY PLAYER ONE (2018) "CGI slop." "IP slop." Many critics dislike Ready Player One, with the usual comments being something similar to what I wrote above. What those people don't understand is that if you feel strongly about a fandom, whether that's a game, franchise, or something else entirely, that's why I, like so many others, resonate so strongly with this movie. This is my favorite late-period Spielberg! *My kids were standing and cheering during the race and battle scenes!

The whole thing is an inane geek fantasy where victory hinges on simply knowing a lot about a rich guy's favourite pieces of pop culture. In spite of Spielberg's efforts to interrogate it, that's all it ends up being.

I imagine it's for the same reason David Lynch turned down a role in Gravity Falls
Martin Scorsese never really embraced The Sopranos in a way that I would’ve imagined- and that’s a little disappointing considering the number of actors who crossed over from Goodfellas to The Sopranos, like Michael Imperioli. Imagine if Marty had dropped in to direct one episode

Probably because it feels like a film where you get everything you could possibly get out of it on a single viewing
a key point everyone is missing when it comes to how much this movie has made is that people are watching it 5 times this is the real discussion we need to be having. what is it about this movie that is bringing people in for that scale of repeat viewings.

To clarify, this is why I missed that quote-unquote key point.

Curry Barker was 2 years old when this came out
Obsession should be studied in Film School. I’m not joking

Ended up checking Pulse's IMDb score versus Obsession's IMDb score and what the fuck

For no reason whatsoever, I'm reminded of the episode of Spaced where Tim decides to follow a difficult conversation with his ex-gf by starting up Tomb Raider and making Lara die on purpose over and over.
Why are games so afraid of brutal deaths nowadays?

Maybe it's time to admit that Spaced was not a very good show

Wonder what his mum made of this

Even worse, they put someone on wires exactly one time and now people won't stop calling it the greatest title card in movie history
*shaking you awake* Bro, they’re making a third Evil Dead without Sam Raimi, who is still alive and working. It’s about “the demons within…a family” and it has absolutely no guys flying around on visible wires or jokes.

Do you think Hayao Miyazaki has ever seen Toy Story 3 or what

Rewatched Forrest Gump. Somehow, I had never noticed the bit where a hippie asks Jenny if she wants a ride to San Francisco and the soundtrack immediately starts playing "San Francisco".

Rewatched Toy Story 3. Definitely confirms my post-TS4 suspicions that this is so laser-focused on reaching that Perfect Ending that everything else now reads like empty, plot-heavy wheel-spinning in comparison (making the Totoro cameo especially ironic in the process).

Went to see Solaris on 35mm but dozed through just enough of it to ruin the experience. This job is killing me.

Toy Story 2 is probably going to shake out as my favourite in the series, building remarkably well upon the fantastic adventure and emotional stakes of the original.

Can't believe anyone woukd still unironically post this clip after this tweet
