Was nice to encounter a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker yesterday at Rostherne Mere, in very similar habitat to previous (few) encounters over last few years: Alders next to water. Habitat worth looking for them in, N Cheshire at least. A calling cuckoo was nice too.

First Skylark back in the hills in breeding area today, often seems 2 b late Feb. Group of 4, around hilltop c. 1000 feet asl. First drumming Great Spot Woody today too. 🤩👍

Best I could do this evening of Jupiter, Callisto, Ganymede and Europa. Would have been better with a compact Canon instead of my phone I reckon.
