According to The New York Times, Lamerd was the first known combat use of the U.S. PrSM Missile. Designed to scatter thousands of tungsten fragments, it struck a sports hall, a school, and nearby homes. Local officials said 21 civilians were killed and hundreds were injured, including a two-year-old girl and an eleven-year-old girl.
