A while ago, I wrote a beginner-friendly intro to Peat's work and many people found it helpful. I still get messages about it regularly. Link is in my profile if you want to give it a read.

Who among us will take the bullet and live off of 6-8 liters of skim milk per day for 30 days?

It's not purely fat free but still like only 2.5% of calories from fat and less than 0.5g of PUFA/day.

Today I learned Brad Pitt was 40 years old when filming Troy. It's not too late for you to get better.

Close to where I live is a coffee place that a lucid 93-year-old visits several times a day, every single day. She famously orders three orange juices and one or two coffees each time. Total Peaty victory.

Glucose, calcium, caffeine, and an enriched environment (she likes people-watching). Can't beat the basics.

Leftists, being essentially religious, grant words a godlike authority. As though the existence of a thing were contingent on our ability to name and define it. They are fundamentally detached from reality -- a complete inversion of every honest and healthy instinct.

My favorite irrational health belief is that the harmful effects of ciggie breaks are perfectly counteracted by the improvements in oxidative metabolism and circadian hygiene resulting from the increased intermittent exposure to infrared light.

ok but also
Yes, sugar is bad. Shocker. Multiple studies show that "naked" sugar can lead to dybiosis in the gut and raise LPS (endotoxin), leading to inflammation and IR (PMIDs: 32397233,34201938). Fruits, honey do not have the same effect (PMIDs: 38906893,35967810). Nature is cool.

Truth is you can do this with most substances. But I have yet to find good evidence that adding pure white sugar to milk, coffee, or even water makes them objectively worse.

Mineral content-wise, this is very good. Add in a bit of Mgcl and you're good to go.

Nothing works in tech lately. The algorithms are trash. Windows is abysmal. File search doesn't work. Devices don't sync. Copilot is pathetic. LastPass logs you out every day. Airtable doesn't load. Welcome to the age of AI.

I finally persevered through the initial cypro comatose state and it is helping me deal with what would otherwise have been tremendous work-related stress.
Cyproheptadine *does* absorb sublingually, takes immediate effect. It goes against the mainstream logic of how absorption works and also contradicts the results of one study (poorly conceived imo), but, nonetheless, I’ve been n=1 testing it and can confirm that it works for me. Immediately opens up the nose, reduces cranial muscle tension — the sort of symptoms one doesn’t realize one has until they’re suddenly resolved. The study itself is hilarious. They recruited 5 ‘healthy male volunteers’ and casually dosed them with 8mg cypro LMAO. Can you imagine being a college student, joining a study for like $50 cash, and then having your entire week ruined because researchers think 8mg is an appropriate dose for testing simple absorption? It showed ~12% absorption sublingual compared to ingested. But Cypro is very lipophilic and whatever bypasses first-pass metabolism diffuses into the tissues and crosses the BBB much faster, which naturally gives the appearance of lower serum levels. On a related note, LLMs are kind of sketchy because Grok references studies that use cypro for treating serotonin syndrome, gynecomastia, cancer etc. and assumes that megadoses are appropriate for civilian use. Keep it to 0.5mg.

The thing about spending is that it's useless as a metric when detached from outcomes. Take the PSOE party from Spain as an example. Following multiple deadly trainwrecks in the past few days, they scramble through their papers to justify that they've "in fact spent more money on public train systems than before." Maybe they did, maybe they didn't. That's not the point. The point is: why should we care how much money you put INTO the system? All anyone cares about is what came OUT of it. If you invested more millions than before and delivered more schedule delays, worse tracks, and more victims than ever... you're effectively outing yourself as incompetent, wasteful, and likely corrupt. Results are the only competence metric that matters.

La inversión global en infraestructura ferroviaria crece exponencialmente. Pasa de 1.747 millones de euros en 2017 a rozar los 4.700 M€ a finales de noviembre. 🧵⤵️

Reporter: “We saw the bruising on your hand. Are you okay?” President Trump: “I’m very good. I clipped it on the table. So I put a little—what do they call it—cream on it. But I clipped it. I would say take aspirin if you like your heart, but don’t take aspirin if you don’t want to have a little bruising.” “I take the big aspirin. And when you take the big aspirin, they tell you that you bruise. The doctors said, ‘You don’t have to take that, sir. You’'re very healthy.’ I said, ‘I’m not taking any chances.’ That’s one of the side effectseffects. of taking aspirin.”
