Who eats whom in a salt marsh food web? Students simulate the feeding motions of marsh animals in #AquaticWILD's "March Munchers" activity to explore the concept of food webs.
Renowned for long lives, turtles take a long time to reach reproductive age–often a decade or more. Most hatchling turtles don’t survive that long! Adults must reproduce their entire lives to ensure just one hatchling makes it to repro age to help sustain the pop.

The loss of adult turtles can have serious implications for their populations. When people take turtles out of the wild, they put entire pops at risk. Check out #AquaticWILD's "Turtle Hurdles" to develop your students' understanding of turtle life cycles & challenges.
Plastic is not fantastic! Turtles often fall victim to plastic pollution. Let's take a stand--in honor of #WildTurtleWeek--against single-use plastics and work towards a cleaner, safer environment for these incredible creatures.
Let's shell-e-brate #WildTurtleWeek (June 8-12) in a WILD way! This week is a great time to lead turtle-themed #ProjectWILD and #AquaticWILD activities with youth.
#AquaticWILD activity “Sea Turtles International” has high school students share international perspectives on wildlife & habitat conservation, as well as the activity “Turtle Hurdles” in which upper elementary/middle school students simulate the migration of sea turtles.
These publications can be acquired when taking a Project WILD or Aquatic WILD professional development training. To sign up, click on “Get Training” at projectwild.org.
Slow and steady now, #WildTurtleWeek arrives next week! This special week was created in 2022 by PARC and partners to help elevate turtles and their conservation.

Attention Florida educators! Interested in a free workshop near you? Join Kristin Wood—a 20 year veteran #ProjectWILD facilitator—for a #FlyingWILD educator workshop at Dade Battlefield Historic State Park coming up on June 19. See the flyer for more info & registration details.
Create artwork with real plants in #AquaticWILD's "Water Plant Art" activity! Elementary students will enjoy gathering aquatic plant specimens, drawing aquatic wildlife that will "live" in their plant samples, and pressing it all together in their own art creation.
Who's doing good things for birds in your community? In the #FlyingWILD activity "Bird Heroes," students identify, research, and write about local people who have contributed to the conservation and health of their community's birds and bird habitats.
