For IDEVASW we joined @ukdecrimnow@ProstitutesColl to protest against the laws that harm sex workers:
“Violence faced by sex workers is a violence that is not only perpetuated by individuals, but by institutions and the state itself.” (1/14)
Today is International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers.
If we are to end violence against sex workers, we have to end criminalisation.
Join us at 6pm in Trafalgar Square to protest against the laws that harm us.

Update & call to action: We passed the 1,250 signature mark on our petition demanding Brighton & Hove City Council prioritises sex workers’ safety! This means that the petition will be presented & debated at the next Full Council meeting on the 19th December from 4.30pm
The Council meeting comes two days after International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers, so we will also be remembering those we’ve lost to violence, and demanding an end to poverty and criminalisation which puts us in danger.
Hope to see many of you on the 19th. If you have any questions, please get in touch, DM or email: ecp@prostitutescollective.net
Stay tuned for an update on the petition debate and next steps . . .

Yesterday, Scotland For Decrim protested outside Scottish Parliament to demonstrate sex workers opposition to the proposed introduction of the Nordic Model in Scotland.
Nordic Model laws force us to work in isolation, in areas far from public view and w/o our colleagues.

Poverty pushes many into sex work, only for the state to punish them for trying to get by.
We must tackle poverty, repeal laws endangering sex workers, and remove cautions and convictions from their records.
I spoke on @BBCWomansHour about why decriminalisation is long overdue:

Packed parliamentary launch of the new report from @ProstitutesColl Brilliant speakers making the case for the decrim with sex workers sharing their stories. It’s important their voices are heard in the debate, so often they are silenced #DecrimNow
