becoming less reactive is a big part of growth and decreasing stress. sometimes this type of avoidance can be looked at as lack of interest or uncaring, but it isn't. if you let everything get you worked up, you're damaging your mind, body and soul.

"my feelings are hurt and i need time to process them so i can better communicate with you" is a perfectly valid response and i wish we used it more in moments of conflict and engrave that into our relationships.
