Hot off the press! Check out the article on "POM-Directed Assembly of Robust Coordination Cages" from Tatjana Parac-Vogt's and Joost Reek's labs. Cui-Lian Liu et al. collected much of the SCXRD data on PX2-A. These are very elegant caged structures! Well done!
Congratulations to Pablo Guardado-Calvo's team at the Pasteur Institute in Paris for their publication in Nature Microbiology on tecovirimat antiviral activity and poxvirus resistance (Vernuccio et al., doi.org/10.1038/s41564-025-0…)! Nice one!👍👍👍
Last night, the PX2-A team achieved a major milestone with the first X-ray data from the new MD3 goniometer!!! This installation involved several support groups, and I would like to thank all of them for their efforts and hard work! Next week: Users!

Congratulations to Elke - a former post-doc on PX2-A - for her perseverance in publishing our paper entitled "Elucidating metal–organic framework structures using synchrotron serial crystallography" in CrystEngComm. This important work will have an impact in MOF chemistry.
And I would also like to especially thank the Dany, Lisse, Jan, Kenneth, Robin and Martin who helped to tutor the workshops with the U Ghent Masters students. It would not be possible without them!🙏🙏🙏
Early this week, PROXIMA 2A hosted MX practicals and workshops for Masters students from the University of Ghent. This year they broke the record with a total of 42 participants! Special thanks to Savvas Savvides, and the staff at SOLEIL'S Users Office, canteen, GH and PR group!
Also at the SUM2024 is Fraçois Ferron who presented a series of crystal structures collected from PX1 and PX2-A detailing the pro-drug to target process. Well done François!
At the SOLEIL Users' Meeting 2024 featured Vincent Lebrun who presented his work combining the use of the Cribleur and micro-focus beam on PX2-A to solve peptide structure to atomic resolution. Bravo Vincent!
Happy New Year to all of our PROXIMA 2A users! 🎉🎊🎇
To start out the year, please check out our YouTube video and forward it to anybody who might be interested.

While I was away on vacation and then at the IUCr Congress, PROXIMA 2A reached 700 PDB structures! 706 in fact! Here are the most recent depositions 8brx, 8brw, 8bru, 8brv, 8pz9, 8pz7, 8art, 7z6o. My thanks to our user community!
As it's the summer shutdown, I thought it would be an appropriate moment to thank a couple of unsung heroes . Below are Fabrice and Nicolas from the vacuum group helping with a LN2 leak in the monochromator cooling system in March 2022. Thank you guys!👋👋👋
Just published 😍 Check our collaborative paper "Biochemical and Structural Characterization of CRH-1, a Carbapenemase from Chromobacterium haemolyticum Related to KPC beta-Lactamases" in Antimicrob Agents Chemother. doi.org/10.1128/aac.00061-23 Thanks @synchroSOLEIL and @Proxima2A !!

PROXIMA 2 hosted students and tutors from the University of Ghent for practicals, tutorials and lectures covering all the steps in X-ray crystallography - crystallisation, harvesting, data collection, structure determination and Savvas Savvides' most famous crystallography quiz!
