So good that the Church of England—in contrast to some other Anglican Provinces—maintains its clear and consistent opposition to assisted suicide. The few dissenters are a TINY minority.

What is this absolute lunacy? This is from TODAY. How neurotic do you have to be to believe that someone coming into my hotel room WHEN I’M NOT IN IT is going to jeopardise my ‘safety’?

Where were you baptised? At the Royal Naval Hospital, Mtarfa, Malta, on the day of my premature birth (at 30 weeks). My parents weren’t military folks; but my father worked in the travel business, based in Malta. Immediate baptism of premature infants was considered a priority.

So sorry to hear of the death yesterday of my dear friend Roger Beckwith—theologian, family man, and saint. Will post details of funeral arrangements when I know them. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

When I signed the open letter concerning Prayers of Love and Faith and Canon B2, I did so in a personal capacity. It did not occur to me that my former position as Chairman of the Prayer Book Society might be stated.

I would not have consented to the Society being named, because the subject of the letter does not relate directly to the Book of Common Prayer. I apologise for any misapprehension thereby caused.

I keep seeing tweets from a young woman named Charlie Smith, who is bipolar and currently sectioned. She seems like a sweet person, but I don't know her and we don't follow anyone in common. Apparently this is 'based on my likes' - v odd. Anyone else seeing this? Seems random!

50 years of the Prayer Book Society!
The Prayer Book Society has been keeping the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) at the heart of the worship in @churchofengland for 50 years. See how we are celebrating. pbs.org.uk/celebrating-50-ye…

Justin Welby has truly gone up in my estimation with this genuine and sincere apology. Let’s hope the Diocese of Chichester will also rehabilitate Bishop Bell: anglican.ink/2021/11/17/just…

Some people have argued that, in choosing not to wear a face mask and encouraging others not to do so, I am not considering the needs of 'weaker brethren', and of those whose mental health (=increased anxiety) may be adversely impacted. Let me explain why I believe this is wrong.

In fact, you are doing me a favour: as you continue to step on the cracks, I will observe that nothing terrible happens after all, and my fear will subside. It's the same with masks.
2
Nobody seriously argues that masks make more than a relatively small difference to community spread of COVID, so being afraid of maskless people is not much more rational than being afraid of paving stone gaps.

So we are being threatened with a second national lockdown to prevent the NHS being overwhelmed. Yet the whole point of the first lockdown - seven months ago - was to give the government time to *build capacity in the NHS* so that it could cope. What have they been doing?

I’m just wondering if our bishops could take time out of their busy schedule, commenting on the employment status of government advisers, to give their laity and priests an update on when our churches might be open again?
