Mercenaries Metamod v2 is out! New patches have been added, bugfixes were made, and many improvements!

Wrapping up more patches for Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction. One of them fixes the loading screen graphics for hardware rendering in PCSX2. Might need more adjustments, but it seems to match software rendering with the exception of how sharp the pixels look.

For Mercenaries Metamod, one of the breakthroughs I made was defining custom language strings from a patch. This allowed me to define custom shop item descriptions!

Tinkering with my own texture upscaler that uses Nvidia's Super Resolution. I'm not sure how far I'll go with this, but it was worth looking into. For how small the textures are, I'm somewhat satisfied with the results.

I'm working on this in hopes I can replace the AI upscaled base textures for all the manual edits. For testing purposes, I'm using the same parameters for each upscale, rather than specifying each with their own.

For Mercenaries HD Textures v3, I reviewed the Mercenaries GDD to see how textures were designed since I couldn't make out every detail. What made remaking them so challenging though was how some materials from the original game were based on real-world designs.

To avoid infringing any of that, I designed my very own medals, badges, patches, epaulettes and logos. Buford's ID card seems to use the actual FBI logo. The ROKA's berets had a badge that was also based on its real-world design. The PLA used a real paratrooper badge too.

The North Korean soldiers also use a real design, however, they flipped the colors and left out most of the detail. It's astounding to see many textures use real-life designs!

I've finally released my collection of PNACH patches for Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction. I've been working on these on and off for a year now, only recently finalizing its public release. Any other WIP patches I have will be incorporated into Mercenaries Metamod.

WIP HD model for Mattias Nilsson in Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction. Since I'm running this on PCSX2, I'm increasing detail over time to see how well it can handle it. So far, I've gotten great results, and likely will look at other character models next.

This mainly served as a performance test for HD character models, and I've yet to experience any issues. Since my last post, I've mostly been working on weapon and prop models, along with HD textures and custom patches. I might post a video soon to showcase some of it.

Cleaned it up further, matched more of the original detail. Moving onto the other weapons.
The WIP HD Stinger model replacement for Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction is in-game. Updated the texture to stay true to the original. HD weapon models with extended LODs appears to be stable enough.
