You see them in Fallout, Dungeons and Dragons, Warhammer, almost ever fantasy setting... Ghouls 🧟‍♂️ I had no idea that Ghouls, or Ghuls, were actually originally a kind of ancient Djinn! Crazy how monsters from Ancient Arabian can stick around and still be so prevalent.

Also some of the initial designs that were not quite right We were having a hard time nailing it down until Midas said "Wait I get it, i'm drawing you too straight, I will draw you more gay," and that was unironically our biggest breakthrough for the design XD

Origin of The Exorcist monster. 👻 Ancient Mesopotamians thought this monster was THE SHIZ. 🏦 Yes he can blow up your city, but he also scares away demons that steal babies. Also... he's in the 1973 The Exorcist Film.

I know I shouldn't find this funny, it really is extremely tragic to see this gorgeous ancient building destroyed. But.... "Temple officials say the sacred flame itself remains unharmed." is just too funny! OFCOURSE THE FIRE IS UNHARMED, ITS DEVOURING THE TEMPLE!

I set myself a goal to try and find the oldest monster recorded in human history. 📜 I think “The Epic of Gilgamesh” is a good place to look, it being the oldest written story that we know of. Want to learn about what people 4000 years ago were cooking up?
