Though many #herbaria are digitizing specimens, digitization of herbarium specimens remains in its infancy. In our survey, < 30% of physical collections had at least collection location and date information online, and < 10% had available digital images in general.
Plant collections (herbaria) are shaped by history. Colonial legacy of this history is evidenced by an inverse relationship between plant diversity in nature and in herbaria: nature.com/articles/s41562-0…
