Yesterday, I attended one of the best side events I have been to locally. Hosted by @Angeliki_BTC @AvaxTeam1 @LinumLabs Upon reflection, I must say, well thought out events are key to networking in web3. In Africa, we need to be more open and willing to help others in the space more. You never know who the next billion dollar project will come from. It maybe someone you have helped along the way. We need to harness bright minds and push think tanks forward. Cultivating the land for harvest is key while in the bear. Being more open to these ideas and pushing for more inclusivity will make this continent thrive.

LEARNING SESSION ✅ Most people use crypto without knowing what they’re actually using. That’s where confusion starts. Layer 1 vs Layer 2 sounds technical. But it’s simple when you break it down. Layer 1 (L1) is the main blockchain. The foundation. Examples: Bitcoin, Ethereum What it does: Processes transactions Secures the network Stores all data The problem: It can get slow Fees go high when demand increases That’s where Layer 2 (L2) comes in. Layer 2 is built on top of Layer 1. Its job is to make things faster and cheaper. What it does: Handles transactions off the main chain Bundles them together Sends them back to Layer 1 for final confirmation Simple way to see it: Layer 1 = main highway Layer 2 = express lanes that reduce traffic Why it matters to you: Lower gas fees Faster transactions Better user experience But here’s the part most people ignore: Not all Layer 2 solutions are the same Some are more secure than others You still rely on Layer 1 for final settlement If you understand this, you stop overpaying on fees and start using crypto the smart way.
