Great action film. The first 1/3 sets up the failure of stoicism in modern society. The second third demonstrates the power and necessity of the father to guide and protect his family. The last half was enjoyable boss v boss chess moves.
The purpose of art is not to descend to the lowest common denominator, but to invite humanity to ascend toward something greater. People should elevate themselves to meet the standards of art, not demand that art diminish itself to meet theirs.
