So my game flopped after 3 years of work...😢
Since its release on May 26th, I've sold 77 copies... Streamers and curious gamers loved it.
I have 2800 wishlists, 800 of which are from the release date....
What do you think? Be honest.🙏

⚔ No two heroes are made the same.
Is the goal of GUILDMAKER's procedural generation. Your adventurers' unique attributes and traits create varying builds, while permadeath could mean losing them forever.

Definitely this.
I've found a lot of fun indie titles but only because I went looking for indie games and stumbled upon their posts. If I hadn't found one random post here on X I never would have known about them.
Nothing is more heartbreaking than seeing game devs spend years on a project for it to only get a couple thousand Wishlists.
Please take marketing seriously before it's too late.
That's the story but what's the gameplay?
There's voxel dungeons and an open overworld full of quests, storylines and chickens that will get 10 years older with each respawn.
A roguelike, but dying in a run makes your daughter age 10 years.
The world around you gets 10 years older too.
What will it be like when you finally reach her?
After completing his quest, you'll be able to play blackjack with him at the tavern. Just a heads-up—he's a terrible loser, and if he loses all his money, he might start a fight.

Changing my game's hook changed everything
Instead of "two geese carrying an egg without breaking it" I switched to "two parents trying to protect their fragile child"
People connected with it much more deeply
Same game. Different hook.
Wishlist velocity increased immediately
Combat in Kromlech is fast-paced, challenging and brutal. We made our own combat system that is pretty easy to learn, but takes time to master and counts with armor placement on enemies. And of course, we have dismemberment…
I got 4k wishlists from 30 seconds of @Asmongold checking out my indie game.
I can't explain how HUGE it is for indie developers to get featured by big content creators. Viewers = Wishlist = Sales.
If you're a content creator, big or small, please continue featuring indie games, it can be huge for us!
IT'S THAT TIME OF THE YEAR. Sending hundreds of follow-up emails to content creators and convincing myself they were just busy the first time. #SteamNextFest
