A great morning spent tree planting in Belleville with @rotarybell @BellevilleON and community volunteers for #TDTreeDays. Together, we’re restoring urban forests. Over 500 trees were planted at Township Park - maples, oaks, aspens, birch, cherry, pine, cedar and shrubs.

Our tree planting season began today with the planting of 800 trees along Palliser Creek to aid in the restoration of this cold water creek system. Thank Simon and Brendan from @AlairHomes Belleville for planting with us today.

Stay off ice and away from fast flowing water – It is especially important to be aware of ice-covered water and fast flowing water. Stay clear of banks and shorelines as they can be slippery and unstable during the winter and spring months.

2022 was a busy year for our @QCOutreach team and @WatershedsCAN!
They planted 4,904 native plant species to help restore 21,804 m2 of shoreline habitat throughout the watershed!
