Bamba, anyone? In response to the divisive and hate-driven boycott of Israeli products at the Park Slope Food Coop, UJA is buying those very products, starting with a purchase of 20,000 bags of Bamba. Stay tuned as we distribute these beloved Israeli snacks at community events over the next few weeks — because we’re all better with Bamba. 🥜

UPDATE ON ANTISEMITIC ATTACKS IN FOREST HILLS & REGO PARK Am glad to report that the blatant antisemitic graffiti that appeared in both my district and in @PhilWongNYC's district has been removed, after an investigation by @NYPDHateCrimes As Co-Chair of @JewishCaucusNYC, I was appalled by this deliberate display of hatred. I want to thank @SpeakerMenin for her amazing support and @NYPDnews for their diligence. There is video and I have been assured those who committed this vile act will be found and held fully accountable. Below are photos before removal of the graffiti.

A synagogue is meant to be a place of worship, where people come together in community. Instead, multiple synagogues and Jewish sites in Queens were targeted with vicious hate, vandalized with swastikas and antisemitic graffiti. Amb. @Ofir_Akunis said: “As we warned, hateful language always turns into dangerous actions. I call upon all elected officials to not only speak, but act, against the rise of antisemitism now.” This disturbing surge in antisemitism cannot be ignored and must be confronted. 📷: @SpeakerMenin

Multiple synagogues and private homes in Queens were vandalized overnight with swastikas and other antisemitic graffiti. @Lynn4NYC, @PhilWongNYC and I are at one of the sites, Congregation Machane Chodosh, in Forest Hills now. When rabbis and congregants arrived to pray this morning, they expected to be met with their usual loving community. When a family woke up, they were prepared to begin an otherwise normal week. Instead, they were met with terrifying signals of hatred and threats of violence. We have visited some of these locations and are in contact with the NYPD, which is investigating and searching for at least four individuals responsible for the terrible incidents. The graffiti will be removed once the investigation is complete. With antisemitism on the rise here and across the globe, we will always stand up for our Jewish community and fight back against hate.

🚨 Breaking: The NYC Council voted to pass the synagogue protection bill with a veto-proof majority of 44 of 51 members. The bill to create a buffer zone for protests outside educational centers also passed, but only by a 30–19 margin — Mamdani could veto it if he chooses.

Antisemitic hate crimes made up 57% of all reported hate crimes in NYC last year, but Jews make up only about 10% of NYC. @SpeakerMenin's leg. package is so needed to help ensure safe access to synagogues/houses of worship/schools while protecting the right to peaceful protest.

My testimony before the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights today: Civil-rights law isn’t an academic exercise. It exists to protect real people facing real harms. Don’t let abstraction become a distraction, and don't let anyone launder discrimination through "political" labels.

Like very few others can, @MarkLevineNYC addressed a standing room only crowd at the annual @QJCCTweets legislative breakfast, flipping seamlessly from one language to another and highlighting the work his office has done. #TringualAndProud

Honored to join my colleagues at the @QJCCTweets Legislative Breakfast this morning to support the organization’s tireless advocacy on behalf of Queens, especially their leadership combating antisemitism at a time when we are, unfortunately, seeing hate incidents rise across NYC.

With over 50 years of service, @QJCCTweets is a critical org for those in need, throughout Queens and beyond, whether it is battling food insecurity, providing social services programs, or fighting antisemitism. That is why it was so important for #TeamLynn to join their annual Legislative Breakfast yesterday. And, despite the frigid temperatures outside, the event was packed and the warmth inside was amazing.
