One day I was stranded abroad with every Malawian card failing and no way to access my own money. That was the moment crypto stopped being abstract for me.
Friend had tried to introduce me to it years earlier. I found it complicated and moved on. Being stranded changed that.

I cannot wait to finally meet Femi in person. I will not lie, I am a little nervous. He has been in this space for a long time and I am still someone who is very curious and very much learning.
But I am walking in with the right problem and the right questions.
Malawi is not in the same conversation as the rest of Africa on digital payments.
That has to change. Hopefully I get to be part of that change.
“Peace out!”

These girls truly managed to learn flutter and BUILD something with it… in 2 weeks!!!! And they weren’t only learning flutter… they had other skills they had to add including DESIGN, cybersec and DATA!
I’m proud!!!
Hosting & facilitating a bootcamp for TWO whole weeks isn’t for the faint of heart.
But you know what? We’re at the finish line and I can’t help but feel so emotional 🥹
Today’s lesson was simple:
If you’re going to build technology, you should understand how to protect it.
Thank you to Jacqueline for introducing our participants to cybersecurity, online safety, cyber threats, and why security matters from day one.

Today reminded me that beginners don’t struggle with moving between screens.

They struggle with understanding what Navigator.push() and Navigator.pop() are actually doing.

So I wrote a guide to make Flutter navigation easier to understand

Today our participants were inspired by Dr. Rachel Sibande
She spoke about innovation, self-belief, overcoming imposter syndrome, and not letting other people’s opinions limit your potential.
Girls can build.
Girls can innovate.
Girls can lead.
